Abstract
In childhood and adolescence articular pains are frequent
and in most of the cases they disappear rapidly and spontaneously.
In a few patients the cause of the symptoms is an organic
and/or a systemic pathology that require accurate examination
and specific treatment. We report a case of a 5-year-old child suffering
from limb pain associated with limp. An emocromocitometric
analysis was carried out since, subsequently, the pain increased
and an intermittent fever appeared. A modest piastrinopenia and a
relative neutropenia led us to formulate the hypothesis of an oncoematologic
pathology. A peripheral blood smear was performed
and it revealed the presence of lymphoid blasts. The diagnosis of
Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia was then confirmed by bone marrow
specimen.
